What is an At-Home Sleep Apnea Test?

Sleep apnea is a condition that causes you to stop breathing during sleep. It can be very dangerous, and it can lead to high blood pressure, heart attacks, and strokes. If you think you might have sleep apnea, it is important to see a doctor and get a diagnosis. An at-home sleep apnea test can be a good first step in getting a diagnosis.

At-home sleep apnea testing is a way to diagnose sleep apnea without having to stay overnight in a sleep lab. It is usually done overnight in your own home, and you will need to wear a special device that monitors your breathing during sleep. After two nights, you can send the home sleep apnea test back to us and wait for the diagnosis.

How Home Sleep Testing Works

At-home sleep tests monitor your breathing while you sleep. The test doesn’t measure how well you sleep, just how often you stop breathing and for how long. The test is usually done over two nights. You wear a small device that’s connected to sensors. The device tracks your breathing and records your sleep patterns. Your doctor will review the results of your test to see if you have sleep apnea.

How to Use At-Home Sleep Test

Once you place an order for your sleep apnea test, we send it over to you with priority shipping. Our team ensures the device is properly packed, and we also test it in advance to ensure it’s accurate and in good working order. You will receive the home sleep test at your doorstep, following which you have a 5-day period to complete the 2-night home sleep test.

An at-home sleep test is a device you wear overnight that monitors your breathing to determine if you have sleep apnea. The device includes three monitors and sensors that work in conjunction to monitor your breathing. You have to place the short oxygen tubes in your nose, wear a finger sensor, and attach the monitor around your chest, and then go to sleep.

We provide detailed visual instructions for the home sleep testing process. You can follow the instructions to ensure the device is set up correctly. When you sleep, the device will monitor your breathing to determine if there are any worrying pauses. Once you send the device back to us, the doctor will interpret the results to determine if you have obstructive sleep apnea.
